When IPL 2023 will start

According to the most recent development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) believes that the Tata Indian Premier League IPL 2023 will start on April 1st, 2023.

According to a source in ESPNcricinfo, the board is considering having the IPL 2023 season start on April 1st, but the tournament’s end date has not yet been determined. The BCCI is resolving the problem of international players’ availability in the IPL before officially finalising the dates of the T20 competition, it was further said.

The Indian Cricket Board would prefer to have the league end in May since the international schedule would be quite busy after that. In the first week of June, England and Ireland will play a single test match. Additionally, the Ashes and the World Test Championship final at the Oval are both set to start in June.

The BCCI won’t want to take the chance of losing foreign players toward the end of the tournament with such tight action planned, thus wrapping up the IPL 2023 by the end of May will be a logical and prudent move.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume its customary home-and-away format for its sixteenth season. Due to COVID’s restrictions, BCCI was only able to arrange & schedule the Indian T20 league at a select few sites.
